Join an AmeriCorps crew working on conservation projects throughout the Middle Rio Grande region of New Mexico. These crews will be Day Shift positions; applicants will meet at RMYC offices each work day Tuesday-Friday, and every other Monday from 8am-5:30pm, with additional scheduled weekend or evening hours possible.
Crews will work to safely complete trail maintenance and/or forestry/fuels reduction (chainsaw thinning) projects. Additional projects may include historic preservation, watershed restoration or other community improvement work. All Corpsmembers will receive both personal and professional development training in topics such as financial management, and public speaking skills.
This is an AmeriCorps position and corpsmembers will receive a living allowance throughout the season, as well as an education award upon successful completion of the term of service. This award can be used to pay tuition at most colleges, universities, or trade schools, or to pay off student loans already acquired.
$760 every two weeks
Corpsmembers are eligible for health insurance during their term of service. Crew transportation is provided from RMYC headquarters to project sites.
